 General Information

Round Count:  153min, 200 recommended (estimated.  we will post actual as soon as the
stages are approved)

Registration opens at 7:00am. Shooter briefing 7:30am, first shot at 8:00am sharp. 

 Registration Fee:  $150.00

 Refund Policy:

Smith & Wesson will refund paid registration fees, less a $25.00 processing fee, if requested in writing on or before January 9, 2012.  No requests for refunds will be honored after January 9, 2012.  Smith & Wesson will not issue refunds in the event participants are unable to attend the program due to inclement weather.  Smith & Wesson reserves the right to cancel the program at any time for any reason.  In the event Smith & Wesson cancels the program, Smith & Wesson may, in its sole discretion, refund all or a portion of paid registration fees to 
participants.  Smith & Wesson shall not be liable for any expenses incurred by participants in the event Smith & Wesson cancels the program.

 Equipment:

In addition to standard IDPA equipment and gear shooters MUST have the following items 
that comply with current IDPA rules: 

  • At least six (6) loading devices (magazines, speed loaders etc.)

  • A functional flashlight

You may also wish to consider plated or jacketed ammunition (no exposed lead) for the
match due to the number of low and no light stages.

Stage Details:

12 challenging courses of fire in variable and changing lighting conditions with and without 
a hand held flashlight and/or auxiliary light source. 
 

Stage Viewing:

Competitors will NOT be allowed to view the stages before their designated shoot time. Any competitor (including members of the press) found 
on the stages prior to their squad time will receive an
FTDR penalty and match 
disqualification
for repeat offenses.

Spectator Policy:

In order to present a fair opportunity to all competitors, spectators will not be allowed on 
the ranges
or beyond the double doors at any time.  If you plan to bring a guest to the match, 
they may use the lounge area of the Smith & Wesson Retail Store, but they will not be 
allowed on the range with you.  The only exception will be for junior competitors if their 
guardian is not competing in the match.

 Press Passes:

Members of the Press must request a “ PRESS PASS ” prior to the event.  Please
email, Paul Pluff at ppluff@smith-wesson.com to request a pass.  Press Passes will be 
issued at Registration.  Members of the press who are competing must have 
a “ PRESS PASS ” and are required to complete their match prior to 
viewing/photographing or filming stages.

 Junior Competitors:

Juniors (ages 12-18) must be under their guardian’s observation at all times due to 
liability. Failure to comply will result in match disqualification for both junior and guardian.

 Meals:

Coffee and donuts will be available before the shooters meetings and a box lunch will be 
available to competitors on their day of their participation.

 Sponsor Catalogs & Promotional Items:

Catalogs and promotional items will be available for competitors to pick up at the match.

  Tours :

Smith & Wesson is proud to offer several factory tours open to authorized competitors at 
posted times in the match book.  Tours will be offered to authorized competitors on a first 
come first served basis at the published times.  Transportation will be provided to the factory 
from the Shooting Sports Center for the tours.  *Please note that due to the International 
Traffic in Arms Regulations, foreign persons (e.g., non-U.S. citizens or those who do not hold
a valid Green Card) cannot be permitted into Smith & Wesson’s factory without appropriate 
U.S. State Department licensure.

 Special Events:

The Indoor Nationals wrap up with an awards ceremony at the Basketball Hall of Fame 
Conference Center in Springfield, MA .  Dinner will be served and champions crowned.  
Tickets will be available for non-competing guests for the awards ceremony at a cost 
of $35 each. Tickets will be issued at competitor registration.  There will be a very limited 
number of tickets available at the event so please complete your application accordingly if
you plan to attend and/or bring a guest.

Trophies:

Trophies will be awarded according to the current IDPA awards policy.  There must be a 
minimum of 5 competitors to honor special category awards.

Prizes:

Prizes will be issued by random drawing for the competitors.

Hospitality/Registration:

Registration, hors d’oevres, beverages and social time will be available Wednesday, 
Thursday, and Friday at the Hilton Garden Inn from 6:00-9:00 PM. You must register the 
evening prior to the day you will be shooting in the hospitality room at the hotel.

Massachusetts General Law Chapter & Section  

Chapter 140: Section 131G. Carrying of firearms by non-residents; conditions

 Section 131G. Any person who is not a resident of the commonwealth may carry 
a pistol or revolver in or through the commonwealth for the purpose of taking part in a pistol 
or revolver competition
or attending any meeting or exhibition of any organized group of firearm collectors or for the purpose of hunting; provided, that such person is a resident of the United States and has a permit or license to carry firearms issued under the laws of any state, district or territory thereof which has licensing requirements which prohibit the issuance of permits or licenses to persons who have been convicted of a felony or who have been convicted of the unlawful use, possession or sale of narcotic or harmful drugs; provided, further, that in the case of a person traveling in or through the commonwealth for the purpose of hunting, he has on his person a hunting or sporting license issued by the commonwealth or by the state of his destination. Police officers and other peace officers of any state, territory or jurisdiction within the United States duly authorized to possess firearms by the laws thereof shall, for the purposes of this section, be deemed to have a permit or license to carry firearms as described in this section.

 Area Attractions:

Competitors and their families can also visit area attractions during their stay in Springfield . Visit and walk the historic grounds of the Springfield Armory National Historic Site.  The 
Museum, gift shop, and extraordinary collections in the  Main Arsenal Building  are open 
for your visit seven days a week 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Some additional suggestions are the Basketball Hall of Fame, The Norman Rockwell Museum, and Yankee Candle.

Frequently Asked Registration Questions:

Q. How do I register for the match?  
               A. Click on the “REGISTER” button. Enter your IDPA number in the box on the right 
                    side of the page.  Click the “New Registration” button (Note: hitting the enter key 
                    on your keyboard will cause an error message). Once you complete the form, hit 
                    the “Save Shooter” button.  You will be routed to the options page. Click the 
                    payment link (PayPal only) and pay the match fee. Go back to the “Match Home” 
                    page and click the “My Squad” link. Enter yourself in a squad (Note: if the payment 
                    link is still visible, refresh your browser and the squad link will appear). Select the                     “Shooter Home” link at the top of the squad page and then the “Additional 
                    Information” link.  Complete this information and you have completed the
                    registration process.

      Q.  Do I have to use PayPal?
       A.  You have to use the PayPal site, but you don’t have to have a PayPal account.   
            
By reading the  directions on 
the PayPal site, you can use a credit card without
             joining PayPal.   

Q.  Q.  Can I reserve a slot and send you a check later? 
       A.  No. You must register, pay and squad yourself online only.  

Q.  Q. I want to shoot with my buddies; can you hold slots in a squad for us?  
     A. No. Consider coordinating with your squad-mates to choose a squad and all register at once.

       Q.  Can I register for a friend using my credit card? 
      
A.  Yes, but you need to fill out a separate registration for each person.  

Q.  Q. Can I pay for me and my friends together? 
     A. No. You have to pay separately for each person.  You can use the same credit card,
          but must fill out a registration and payment for each person.  

Q.  Q.  Can I move to another squad later? 
       A.  Yes. Log in on the left side with your IDPA number and the password you created.  
             Click the “My Squad” link and you can move to any open slot.  This option will be
              shut down shortly 
before the match date.  

Q.  Q.  I have not shot a classifier in the last 12 months, can I still shoot? 
     A.  No. You must have shot a classifier in the last 12 months and must have
          classified marksman or above in order to compete.  

Q.  Q.  Do I have to be an IDPA member to shoot? 
       A.  Yes. You must have a valid IDPA membership  

Q.  Q.  How do you know if I am a member? 
      A.  Memberships and classifications are automatically checked via IDPA Headquarters.
